Ram, farm & jobs on Cong’s MP manifesto
Bhopal: Showcasing the party’s ‘soft-Hinduvta’ face, the Congress election manifesto released on Saturday has promised to launch a ‘Ram Van Gaman Path’ tour to retrace Lord Ram’s footprints in MP and set up a new ‘religion and spiritual department’ that plans to begin commercial production of cow urine and cow dung cakes in gaushalas. It also pledges to pass a law to protect Narmada river. Congress has also promised to shut down Vyapam, waive farm loans of up to Rs 2 lakh and constitute a ‘Vidhan Parishad’ in MPassembly. Voting for 18 constituencies in MP will be held on November 12. The Mandsaur police firing that killed five farmers will be reinvestigated if Congress comes to power, says the party’s manifesto, which it has named ‘Vachan Patra (Pledge Document)’.
