Honey-trapped Army jawan who spied for ISI held in Raj

Jaipur: An Army jawan was re­cently ar­rested from Ra­jasthan’s Jaisalmer for shar­ing con­fi­den­tial in­for­ma­tion with Pak­istani in­tel­li­gence agen­cies af­ter be­ing honey-trapped on so­cial me­dia.

Se­poy Som­bir, cur­rently in cus­tody of Ra­jasthan po­lice, is be­ing quizzed to de­ter­mine what strate­gic de­tails he di­vulged, an of­fi­cer of the State Spe­cial Branch said on Sun­day. Som­bir, a Haryana res­i­dent, joined the Army in 2016. Sources said, a fe­male ISI spy hold­ing a a fake onli- ne ac­count ap­proached Som­bir on so­cial me­dia seven months ago us­ing the name Anika Cho­pra. She in­tro­duced her­self as an of­fi­cer with Army Med­i­cal Corps in Jammu and later sent him an “in­ti­mate” mes­sage to lure him.
