Will Akhilesh pick Maya over his dad for PM’s post: Yogi

The Times of India (Mumbai edition) - - TIMES NATION -

Aday after the historic Akhilesh-Mayawati alliance, UP CM Yogi Adityanath tried to drive a wedge between SP and BSP on Sunday by recalling their tumultuous past and pointing at inherent contradictions between the two parties. Speaking at an event here, Yogi asked Akhilesh if he chose Mayawati over his father and SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav for the PM’s post. “In the last LS polls, Akhilesh wanted his father to be the PM. Who is he projecting this time as PM, Mulayam or Mayawati?” Yogi asked. “It’s not clear if Mulayamji would even get an SP ticket to contest this time. Anyway, Mulayam’s brother Shivpal Yadav wants to field him,” he said, highlighting the rift in the Yadav family.
