The Times of India (Mumbai edition) - - TIMES NATION -

After Chhattisgarh, the first Congress-led state to revoke permission to CBI to probe cases in the state, Madhya Pradesh may join the chorus soon. State Congress leaders and cabinet ministers believe that the premier investigating agency is being misused and has lost its identity as ‘neutral and unbiased’. They have left the issue to chief minister Kamal Nath for a final call. State home minister Bala Bachchan fuelled speculations on Saturday when he said CBI has lost its significance after the recent squabble within the organisation. “This is a highly sensitive matter. I would discuss with chief minister Kamal Nath ji whether to revoke permission to CBI to probe in Madhya Pradesh,” Bachchan had told reporters at a function here. However, the MP home department is not aware of any such decision.
