2 women seen bludgeoning 16 puppies to death in Kol hospital
Kolkata: The 16 puppies, which were found dead on NRS Medical College and Hospital campus on Sunday, had been bludgeoned with blunt weapons, a preliminary postmortem report said on Monday. The report suggested 12 puppies had severe brain haemorrhage and four had their stomach and liver ruptured.
A video of the assault, shot from second floor of R Ahmed Dental College Hostel, has helped cops and a team of hospital officials probing the case “identify a strong suspect” — a nursing student. The 28-second mobile video clip shows two women beating up the puppies behind the nurses’ hostel.
“We have identified a nursing student, whose profile matches that of one of the women. We questioned her but she denied being present on Sunday,” NRS Hospital deputy superintendent Dwaipayan Biswas said.
