Mukul Roy, a former close aide of Ma­mata Ban­er­jee who had quit Tri­namool Congress to join BJP, was named in an FIR on Sun­day as one of the ac­cused in the mur­der of Kr­is­hanganj Tri­namool MLA Satya­jit Biswas. Satur­day’s killing has opened a fresh front in the Tri­namool-BJP war of words in Ben­gal. Roy is head­ing BJP’s cam­paign strat­egy in the east­ern state and is one of the four peo­ple against whom IPC Sec­tions 302 (mur­der) and 120B (crim­i­nal con­spir­acy) have been slapped. Mum­bai: The Re­serve Bank of In­dia (RBI) will not im­me­di­ately trans­fer sur­plus cap­i­tal, which is set aside as re­serve over the years, to the gov­ern­ment. The cen­tral bank au­dit com­mit­tee has, how­ever, cleared an in­terim div­i­dend of Rs 28,000 crore based on a lim­ited au­dit for the cur­rent year and the same is likely to be de­clared af­ter the cen­tral bank’s board meet­ing on Fe­bru­ary 18.
