Pas­sen­gers fume as Jet can­cels over 20 flights

Mum­bai: Debt-rid­den Jet Air­ways on Sun­day can­celled over 20 flights it op­er­ates to/ from the Mum­bai air­port. Among these were 10 de­par­ture flights, most of them sched­uled to be op­er­ated in the morn­ing.

Among the de­par­tures can­celled were those to Kolkata, Delhi, Chen­nai, Hy­der­abad, Vado­dara, Ben­galuru, Luc­know and Thiru­vanan­tha­pu­ram. Be­sides these, 12 ar­rivals into Mum­bai from cities like Delhi, In­dore, Chen­nai, Ben­galuru and Hy­der­abad were also can­celled.

Film­maker Vivek Ag­ni­hotri tweeted: “@je­tair­ways, you make me wake up at 4 for a 6 am flight only to can­cel it. Missed my Nag­pur event. Do you re­al­ize the loss it causes to ev­ery­one?” An­other pas­sen­ger, @khan­del­walmeet tweeted about Jet Air­ways cus­tomer care num­ber. He tweeted that he has been call­ing on the num­ber since the past four days, thrice a day, but without a re­sponse.

A Jet Air­ways spokesper­son said, “A few flights were to­day (Sun­day) can­celled due to op­er­a­tional rea­sons. The air­line re­grets the in­con­ve­nience it caused to its guests. Affected guests have been re-ac­com­mo­dated, while those seek­ing re­funds have been com­pen­sated as per ap­pro­pri­ate guide­lines.”
