Passengers fume as Jet cancels over 20 flights
Mumbai: Debt-ridden Jet Airways on Sunday cancelled over 20 flights it operates to/ from the Mumbai airport. Among these were 10 departure flights, most of them scheduled to be operated in the morning.
Among the departures cancelled were those to Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow and Thiruvananthapuram. Besides these, 12 arrivals into Mumbai from cities like Delhi, Indore, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad were also cancelled.
Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri tweeted: “@jetairways, you make me wake up at 4 for a 6 am flight only to cancel it. Missed my Nagpur event. Do you realize the loss it causes to everyone?” Another passenger, @khandelwalmeet tweeted about Jet Airways customer care number. He tweeted that he has been calling on the number since the past four days, thrice a day, but without a response.
A Jet Airways spokesperson said, “A few flights were today (Sunday) cancelled due to operational reasons. The airline regrets the inconvenience it caused to its guests. Affected guests have been re-accommodated, while those seeking refunds have been compensated as per appropriate guidelines.”
