Ut­tarak­hand taxi driv­ers on strike

Thou­sands of tourists across Ut­tarak­hand were stranded on Thurs­day as com­mer­cial taxi op­er­a­tors stayed off the roads in protest against fit­ting of speed gover­nors in ve­hi­cles.

The Cen­tre plans to re­duce prices of com­monly used medical de­vices by cap­ping the trade mar­gin at 30% at the first point of sale, re­ports Sushmi Dey.

The move is likely to trim ir­ra­tional profits ma- de by distrib­u­tors, whole­salers, re­tail­ers and hos­pi­tals by sell­ing such prod­ucts to pa­tients.
