AAP minister claims assault by BJP MLA
New Delhi: AAP minister Imran Hussain on Thursday lodged a police complaint against BJP MLA Manjinder Singh Sirsa and his aides for allegedly trying to beat him up and obstruct his official work.
“Sirsa, with around 15 people, threatened me with life and tried to hurt me. I had to run away from the secretariat to save myself. I have to finish some urgent work at the secretariat but am afraid of going to my office because BJP MLAs and AAP rebel MLA Kapil Mishra are camping at the CM’s office,” he said, seeking action against Sirsa.
A senior police official said they had received a complaint but were yet to register an FIR. The police will scan the CCTV footage and investigate the complaint before registering an FIR, a source said.
