Asked not to litter, 3 kill youth
New Delhi: A 23-year-old man was stabbed to death by three men when he stopped them from littering the pond outside his house in southwest Delhi’s Vasant Kunj on Thursday. Two of the accused, Waseem and Shahrukh were arrested, while one of them managed to escape.
Police received a PCR call at 3pm from a neighbour of the victim, Danish, stating that he was lying in a pool of blood. A police team rushed to the spot and Danish was taken to a hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Police said at 2.30pm Danish was walking outside his house when he noticed the accused throwing garbage bags into the pond — barely 20m from his house. He walked up to them and asked them not to do so. “While he was guiding them to a dustbin, the men slapped him,” they added. Danish fought back, which got the accused angry and they stabbed him in the chest and stomach. The stab wound in the chest proved to be fatal, police said. A team has been formed to track down the absconding accused, police added.
