Kin of man killed in 2013 ac­ci­dent get 65 lakh

New Delhi: The fam­ily mem­bers of a 27-year-old man killed in a road ac­ci­dent in 2013, has been awarded a com­pen­sa­tion of over Rs 65 lakh by a Mo­tor Ac­ci­dent Claims Tri­bunal.

“Vic­tim suf­fered fa­tal in­juries in the ac­ci­dent, which is also sup­ported from his medical records. It stands proved that ac­ci­dent in ques­tion oc­curred due to rash or neg­li­gence driv­ing of of­fend­ing ve­hi­cle,” said MACT pre­sid­ing Mal­ho­tra.

The tri­bunal di­rected a pri­vate in­sur­ance com­pany, with which the of­fend­ing truck was in­sured, to pay Rs 65.22 lakh to the fam­ily of Raj Ku­mar.

Ac­cord­ing to the com­plaint, which was filed by Ku­mar's fa­ther, the ac­ci­dent oc­curred in Au­gust 2013 when the vic­tim was rid­ing his bike to Je­war in Ut­tar Pradesh from Delhi. A truck hit the mo­tor­cy­cle re­sult­ing in his death. of­fi­cer S S
