DU may release sixth cutoff list
New Delhi: Delhi University may release a sixth cutoff list as several seats, especially in the reserved categories, are yet to be filled. The second day of admissions in the fifth cutoff list on Friday saw a decent turnout.
While several colleges have closed admissions for their general category seats, a handful of courses are still left for students in some top colleges.
Many students tried their luck after withdrawing from other colleges to get admission in some courses.
Nitya Maland, a student, said, “I got admission at SGTB Khalsa College in English (Hons). I earlier got admission at Kamla Nehru in the first cutoff and Dyal Singh College in the third cutoff. But I have been cancelling my admission so that I could get into a North Campus college,” she said.
While the university is yet to take a final call on the sixth cutoff list, several principals think it’s a good move. Promila Kumar, principal of Gargi College, said, “It would be better if a sixth list comes out to allow colleges to fill vacant seats.”
