750 JJ clus­ters to get a facelift

CM Gives Nod At DUSIB Meet

New Delhi: Chief min­is­ter Arvind Ke­jri­wal chaired the 22nd board meet­ing of Delhi Urban Shel­ter Im­prove­ment Board (DUSIB) on Fri­day and ap­proved de­vel­op­ment work in 750 JJ clus­ters across the city.

The board pre­pared a con­sol­i­dated es­ti­mate for com­ple­tion of pave­ments and drains in­clud­ing re­pair works in all the JJ clus­ters. The work will be com­pleted in one year and the Delhi gov­ern­ment will pro­vide the re­quired funds for these re­pair and con­struc­tion work to DUSIB.

To keep all the toi­let com­plexes clean, the board ap­proved en­gage­ment of spe­cialised agen­cies for main­te­nance of all 700 Jan Su­vidha Com­plexes in the JJ clus­ters.

“These agen­cies will main­tain the com­plexes by de­ploy­ing me­chan­i­cal equip­ment and pro­fes­sional clean­ing ser­vices. The board also ap­proved the de­mand for sur­vey of all JJ clus­ters in Delhi and is­suance of a pro- vi­sional sur­vey cer­tifi­cate to the JJ dwellers — with pho­to­graph of the oc­cu­pants of the sur­veyed units,” said a Delhi gov­ern­ment spokesper­son.

The board ap­proved main­te­nance of 414 shishu vatikas by en­gag­ing pro­fes­sional agen­cies. “It also gave its nod to the pro­posal of open­ing gyms in all the DUSIB shishu vatikas wher­ever fea­si­ble. A 6-acre park will be de­vel­oped at Ti­lak Vi­har,” said the spokesper­son.

DUSIB has kept pro­vi­sion of Rs 785.21 crore as bud­get for fis­cal year 2018-19 to im­ple­ment var­i­ous schemes in­clud­ing night shel­ters, toi­let com­plexes, shishu vatikas etc.

The work will be com­pleted in a year and the govt will fund it
