Pak’s top judge comes to Katas­raj pond res­cue

Am­rit­sar: Pak­istan Supreme Court chief jus­tice Mian Saqib Nisar has re­port­edly rep­ri­manded the own­ers of the ce­ment fac­to­ries in the vicin­ity of the clus­ter of Hindu tem­ples at Katas­raj for ex­trav­a­gantly and mind­lessly use of sub­soil water for per­sonal in­ter­ests, which has not only dried up the holy pond but has also played havoc with the en­vi­ron­ment at Katas­raj, which is sit­u­ated in Chak­wal district of Pak­istan and is one of the UNESCO world her­itage sites of Pak­istan.

Talk­ing to TOI on Satur­day, Islamabad-based lawyer at the high court Muham­mad So­hail Sa­jid said the chief jus­tice had vis­ited the his­toric clus­ter of tem­ples on Fri­day and took no­tice of the dam­age caused to the holy pond and
