Adopt cows & get rewarded, says Rajasthan’s Cong govt
UP honours cops for saving cow
Jaipur: The Congress-led Rajasthan government has decided to honour those who adopt stray cows on Independence day and Republic day. The Directorate of Gopalan has issued a letter to all district collectors asking them to motivate donors, NGOs, social workers and cow lovers to adopt stray cows and felicitate them on August 15 and January 26.
The Directorate of Gopalan of the state government works for cattle conservation, research and development. Deputy CM Sachin Pilot on Monday said the previous BJP government in the state had tried to create “hatred” on such issues.
“The idea is to conserve cows with cooperation from people. Those who adopt stray cows and undertake welfare activities will be felicitated by district collectors,” Vishram Meena, director, Gopalan directorate, said. Ateam
of three policemen of Dial 100 team were felicitated on Monday after they rescued a cow from a nullah on Sunday. Speaking with home guard Shailendra Kumar said, “A villager said his cow had fallen into a nullah. Home guard Jitendar Kumar brought a rope, while head constable Deshraj Singh descended into the nullah to prevent the cow from drowning.”
