LS polls: Cong and CPM inch closer in Kerala

The Times of India (New Delhi edition) - - FRONT PAGE -

With an eye on the LS polls, CPM’s Kerala unit sprang a surprise when its state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan suggested that the Left party is ready to sink its differences with Congress and to “take all tactical steps to ensure that BJP is ousted”.

Congress appeared to echo the sentiment, with Kerala unit chief Mullapally Ramachandran saying party would ally with CPM provided it gave up its violent politics. In Bengal, this will mean Congress and Left parties will deliberate on the prospects of a tie-up. P10
