Two migrant workers murdered in Assam
: Two persons from East Midnapore, who had gone to Assam to work as masons, were murdered in the Doom Dooma police station area on Saturday. Two other workers were seriously injured after their hands were chopped off by the miscreants when they tried to rescue the two victims. The victims — Seikh Idris Ali (52) of Gopalnagar and Seikh Muhummed of Garh Purusottampur, both under Panskura police station — had gone to Assam a month-and-a-half ago with the help of a local contractor. A probe into the incident is on and police said the reason for the altercation is not known.
