Six motels and resorts attached
New Delhi: Taking action against property tax defaulters, North Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday attached six motels and resorts at GT Karnal Road.
An amount of Rs 4.7 crore is pending against them and unless it is paid, no commercial activity will be allowed, said a north corporation official. The action was taken by the assessment and collection department, Narela Zone.
The total value demanded from these properties include principal amount as well as penalty from the date of submitting incorrect information.
Officials claimed that the defaulters were identified during the corporation’s ongoing scrutiny drive, which will continue in future as well.
“These properties included Sydney Grand and Retreat resort, Motel mantrum, Motel Jehan, Zeenat Motel and Motel Jehan. The arrears were accumulated against them as they were making payment of property tax under category H of unit area method under self-assessment scheme. Whereas, they were running commercial ventures and were supposed to assess property tax at the highest value in the vicinity, which is category G,” said a senior corporation official.
“We got to know about these cases through their online and manual transactions,” said the official. New Delhi: Mother Dairy has hiked the price of cow milk by Rs 2 per litre from Friday in NCR. The cow milk variant will now be available at Rs 44 per litre.
According to an official, the prices of the cow milk variant effective from September 6 are Rs 23 for 500ml pack and Rs 44 for the one-litre pack. The prices of other milk variants remain unchanged.
The leading milk supplier said that the retail price of cow milk has been hiked since the company is shelling out more to the farmers to procure raw milk.
With Mother Dairy increasing prices, it is likely that other milk suppliers such as Amul and Parag will also follow suit.
