22-year-old man shot outside his house
New Delhi: In a suspected gang-war case, a 22-year-old man was shot dead in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar by two men on a scooter, on Thursday night.
The victim, Pushkar, had gone out for a stroll near his house in Pratap Colony, along with his dog at 10pm, when the killers came from another lane connecting the residential colony and stopped behind him. They called Pushkar and then fired three rounds at his leg due to which he fell on the road. He tried to hide behind a vegetable cart parked nearby, while his dog fled hearing the gunshots.
The killers then got off the scooter and fired three more rounds at Pushkar from close range. After ensuring that Pushkar had died, the men fled. The incident was captured on a CCTV camera.
Meanwhile, hearing the gunshots family members of Pushkar rushed to the spot. He was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. Cops are scanning the CCTV footage to identify the accused. The men were seen wearing helmets and firing from a semiautomatic weapon.
A prima facie probe revealed that Pushkar was familiar with a few members of the Nandu Gang in Najafgarh. His family earlier stayed at Bahadurgarh and had recently shifted to Aman Vihar. Pushkar was also suspected to be involved in the murder of a shopkeeper in Bahadurgarh recently. The possibility of a rival gang targeting him for the murder is being probed.
