MP KD Singh, 6 aides booked for ‘cheat­ing’ peo­ple of crores

Kan­pur: Ra­jya Sabha mem­ber KD Singh and six of his aides have been booked for dup­ing peo­ple of sev­eral crores of ru­pees. An FIR was reg­is­tered at the Kot­wali po­lice sta­tion of the city on Thurs­day.

Kot­wali cir­cle of­fi­cer Ra­jesh Pandey said, “The FIR was lodged by one Pawan Mishra, wherein he has stated that Ra­jya Sabha mem­ber KD Singh, who had opened a real state of­fice with the name Al­chemist In­fra Town­ship Lim­ited in... the city in 2010, had promised to double and quadru­ple in­vestors’ in­vest­ments or pro­vide them land or flat.” In his com­plaint, Mishra said the of­fice was closed down in De­cem­ber last year, just be­fore the ac­cused were to re­turn the in­vested money with prof­its to around 10,000 in­vestors in Jan­uary 2019. Mishra, his rel­a­tives and friends had in­vested over Rs 45 lakh in KD Singh’s com­pany.

“We have reg­is­tered a case un­der IPC sec­tions re­lat­ing to cheat­ing and dis­hon­estly in­duc­ing de­liv­ery of prop­erty, crim­i­nal breach of trust and have launched an in­ves­ti­ga­tion. Pre­lim­i­nary find­ings in­di­cate that there is ev­i­dence of fi­nan­cial bungling,” said Pandey.
