MP KD Singh, 6 aides booked for ‘cheating’ people of crores
Kanpur: Rajya Sabha member KD Singh and six of his aides have been booked for duping people of several crores of rupees. An FIR was registered at the Kotwali police station of the city on Thursday.
Kotwali circle officer Rajesh Pandey said, “The FIR was lodged by one Pawan Mishra, wherein he has stated that Rajya Sabha member KD Singh, who had opened a real state office with the name Alchemist Infra Township Limited in... the city in 2010, had promised to double and quadruple investors’ investments or provide them land or flat.” In his complaint, Mishra said the office was closed down in December last year, just before the accused were to return the invested money with profits to around 10,000 investors in January 2019. Mishra, his relatives and friends had invested over Rs 45 lakh in KD Singh’s company.
“We have registered a case under IPC sections relating to cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property, criminal breach of trust and have launched an investigation. Preliminary findings indicate that there is evidence of financial bungling,” said Pandey.
