Six held for robbery in west Delhi
New Delhi: Six men were arrested for allegedly robbing a house in west Delhi's Naraina Vihar. The incident was first reported by TOI on Sunday.
Senior police officers said that the accused, identified as Kasim, Mohammad Razi, Balkrishan, Fardeen Siddiqui, Mamoon Ahmed and Tasleem were arrested with the looted jewellery and cash. The gang had been working in the house after being hired for renovation work by the victim, a 58year-old woman.
Police said the robbery was planned by one Shanu, who had come to the house to work as a carpenter.
After attacking the woman and her housemaid, the gang locked them up in a room and fled with the valuables.
One of the robbers was seen in CCTV footage of the area. Razi was nabbed, who confessed to the crime and gave up the names of his other associates.
After raids in several areas in NCR, the other five accused were also arrested. The manhunt for the mastermind, Shanu, is on. The pistol used in the crime has been seized.
