Six held for rob­bery in west Delhi

New Delhi: Six men were ar­rested for al­legedly rob­bing a house in west Delhi's Naraina Vi­har. The in­ci­dent was first re­ported by TOI on Sun­day.

Se­nior po­lice of­fi­cers said that the ac­cused, iden­ti­fied as Kasim, Mo­ham­mad Razi, Balkr­is­han, Fardeen Sid­diqui, Mamoon Ahmed and Tasleem were ar­rested with the looted jew­ellery and cash. The gang had been work­ing in the house af­ter be­ing hired for ren­o­va­tion work by the victim, a 58year-old woman.

Po­lice said the rob­bery was planned by one Shanu, who had come to the house to work as a car­pen­ter.

Af­ter at­tack­ing the woman and her house­maid, the gang locked them up in a room and fled with the valu­ables.

One of the rob­bers was seen in CCTV footage of the area. Razi was nabbed, who con­fessed to the crime and gave up the names of his other as­so­ci­ates.

Af­ter raids in sev­eral ar­eas in NCR, the other five ac­cused were also ar­rested. The man­hunt for the master­mind, Shanu, is on. The pis­tol used in the crime has been seized.
