Delhi govt hospital to get a new block
New Delhi: Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday laid the foundation stone for a new hospital block for Delhi government’s Acharya Bhikshu Hospital in west Delhi’s Moti Nagar.
With the construction of the new block, the total number of beds in the hospital will increase from 150 to 420. “The construction of this block will be completed in the next 15 months by the Public Works Department (PWD),” a statement issued by the Delhi government quoted Kejriwal as saying. “The services being added to this hospital will be such that even a top private hospital may not be able to provide.”
Kejriwal added that the condition of the hospital a few years ago was such that nobody wanted to go there for treatment. State health minister Satyendar Jain said that the expansion will ensure people no longer have to be referred to bigger hospitals that are far away.
