Bihar police book man dead for 5 yrs
Patna: A man who died five years ago has been named along with five others in a case that occurred in Barh, in Patna district, in January this year.
The names of Ajay Kumar and five others were sent by the Barh police under CrPC Section 107 (likely to commit a breach of the peace) to the subdivisional court, which issued a notice for the accused to appear in the case on September 11.
Ajay’s father Ramkrit Yadav was shocked to receive the court notice last week asking his son to appear in court.
“I don’t know how to convince the local police and officials that my son Ajay is dead. He died five years ago, how he can comply with the order?” asked the hapless father, showing the notice from Barh sub-divisional court. The SHO of Barh police station, Sanjeet Kumar, admitted the faux pas. “Yes, the name of Ajay Kumar and five others was sent to the sub-divisional court in January,” he said, adding the “human error is being rectified”.
