AAP stealing credit for cleaner air in city: BJP
New Delhi: State BJP chief Manoj Tiwari on Tuesday alleged that the AAP-led Delhi government was taking credit for reducing pollution in the city, but it was mainly the efforts of the Centre that led to the cleaner air.
Tiwari accused chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of trying to “steal” credit from the Modi government for bringing down air pollution levels in the capital. The BJP leader alleged that the Delhi government did not follow directions of the CPCB with regard to steps to check the menace in the city.
Reacting to the charge, AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bhardwaj said Tiwari should take all the credit for reduced pollution in Delhi and hold Kejriwal responsible for high pollution levels in neighbouring towns of Ghaziabad and Gurugram. “We agree with Manoj Tiwari, let BJP take all the credit for reducing the air pollution in Delhi. Let Kejriwal be responsible for rising pollution levels in Noida and Gurugram because he is not letting Yogi Adityanath and Manohar Lal Khattar work in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, respectively,” he said.
