Two women face brunt of snatching menace
New Delhi: Bike-borne snatchers continue to target people in Delhi. Two more women became their victims in separate incidents in northeast Delhi on Tuesday.
In the first incident, Sunita was attacked by a man, who snatched her gold earrings in Bhajanpura area. She suffered severe injuries to her ear, and had to undergo surgey for the torn muscles.
Her husband Balvir Singh, who is a government employee, told cops that they were out for a morning walk when the incident happened. “We were on Yamuna Vihar Road at 5.30am when a man in his early 20s walked up to us and tried to snatch my wife’s earrings. He caught hold of my wife and tried to remove her earrings. When we resisted, he got into a scufffle with us and managed to escape with the earrings,” Singh told cops.
Even as the woman fell on the ground with her right ear bleeding profusely, the snatchers fled towards Bhagat Singh Park. Singh took his wife to a nearby hospital, and she underwent the surgery on Wednesday. A case of robbery has been registered at Bhajanpura poli

A few hours later, another woman lost her earrings to snatchers in Jaffrabad. The victim Kamlesh told the police that she was out for a walk with her dog when two men on a Scooty targeted her. The incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed in the area. A case has been registered, and police are scanning the footage to identify the accused.
No arrests were made till Wednesday evening in any of these two cases.
