Wrong challans for speeding will be waived, say cops
motorists have received online challans for “speeding” on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway — from Nizamuddin Bridge to UP Gate — even when they were travelling below the speed limit of 70kmph on the stretch. Police said such challans would be waived. These got issued because the automatic number plate reading (ANPR) cameras are calibrated to flag speeds above 50kmph. Police also said vehicles will be given a “grace” of 5kmph on speed limits in the city.
