2 killed as car rams 3 autos in north Delhi
New Delhi: Two auto drivers were killed and another was seriously injured when a car hit their vehicles on GT Karnal Road near north Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar early on Monday.
The three had stopped near a bus stand looking for passengers when an SX4 driven by Mohit (23), a BA student and a businessman’s son, lost control and hit the autorickshaws from behind at 1.50am. Such was the impact that the autos were flung into a ditch.
Locals called up police after which Sanjay Donde and Jai Kishan were pulled out of their mangled autos and taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram hospital. They were then referred to JPN hospital where they died. The injured driver was identified as Jitender.
Police arrested Mohit, a resident of Bhairon Enclave in Palam, from the spot. No trace of alcohol was found in his body. He was later granted bail.
