Now, INX case judge to hear all 2G lawsuits
DK Shivakumar sent to 14-day judicial custody
New Delhi: Delhi high court has transferred all pending 2G scam cases, including the Aircel-Maxis suit involving former Union finance minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti, from special judge OP Saini to special judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar, who is trying the INX-Media cases against the father-son duo.
Judge Kuhar is currently presiding over the special court to try lawmakers including Congress leader D K Shivkumar, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and his family members, former Himachal Pradesh CM Virbhadra Singh and his family members, among others.
All pending 2G matters will be handled by special judge Kuhar from October 1 as Justice Saini will retire at the end of September. The Supreme Court had appointed Judge Saini to try all cases linked to t he telecom scam on a dayto-day basis.

court on Tuesday sent Karnataka Congress leader D K Shivakumar, arrested in a money laundering case by ED , to 14-day judicial custody. Special judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar directed the ED to take Shivakumar to hospital first and to see whether doctor suggests admitting him there. The court has listed Shivakumar’s bail plea for hearing on Wednesday . “In case of his admission in the hospital, the doctors shall hand over his custody to the Superintendent, Central jail, Tihar only on his discharge,” he said.
the Court of O P Saini, district and sessions judgecum-special judge (CBl), be transferred and allocated to the court of special judge (CBI)-09, presently presided over by A K Kuhar with effect from October, 1, 2019 which shall be the designated Court to undertake the trial of the said 2G Spectrum Cases in addition to matters already pending before the Court of A K Kuhar,” said the order issued by the HC on Monday.
