Now, INX case judge to hear all 2G law­suits

New Delhi: Delhi high court has trans­ferred all pend­ing 2G scam cases, in­clud­ing the Air­cel-Maxis suit in­volv­ing for­mer Union fi­nance min­is­ter P Chi­dambaram and his son Karti, from spe­cial judge OP Saini to spe­cial judge Ajay Ku­mar Kuhar, who is try­ing the INX-Me­dia cases against the fa­ther-son duo.

Judge Kuhar is cur­rently pre­sid­ing over the spe­cial court to try law­mak­ers in­clud­ing Congress leader D K Shivku­mar, RJD supremo Lalu Prasad and his fam­ily mem­bers, for­mer Hi­machal Pradesh CM Virb­hadra Singh and his fam­ily mem­bers, among oth­ers.

All pend­ing 2G mat­ters will be han­dled by spe­cial judge Kuhar from Oc­to­ber 1 as Jus­tice Saini will re­tire at the end of Septem­ber. The Supreme Court had ap­pointed Judge Saini to try all cases linked to t he tele­com scam on a dayto-day ba­sis.

court on Tues­day sent Kar­nataka Congress leader D K Shivaku­mar, ar­rested in a money laun­der­ing case by ED , to 14-day ju­di­cial cus­tody. Spe­cial judge Ajay Ku­mar Kuhar di­rected the ED to take Shivaku­mar to hospi­tal first and to see whether doc­tor sug­gests ad­mit­ting him there. The court has listed Shivaku­mar’s bail plea for hear­ing on Wed­nes­day . “In case of his ad­mis­sion in the hospi­tal, the doc­tors shall hand over his cus­tody to the Su­per­in­ten­dent, Cen­tral jail, Ti­har only on his dis­charge,” he said.

the Court of O P Saini, district and ses­sions judge­cum-spe­cial judge (CBl), be trans­ferred and al­lo­cated to the court of spe­cial judge (CBI)-09, presently presided over by A K Kuhar with ef­fect from Oc­to­ber, 1, 2019 which shall be the des­ig­nated Court to un­der­take the trial of the said 2G Spec­trum Cases in ad­di­tion to mat­ters al­ready pend­ing be­fore the Court of A K Kuhar,” said the or­der is­sued by the HC on Mon­day.
