Cop in soup for teach­ing kids to shoot

New Delhi: An in­spec­tor posted in the North­west dis­trict of Delhi Po­lice has been sus­pended af­ter a video of him teach­ing his chil­dren how to use weapons at New Po­lice Lines fir­ing range sur­faced on­line.

In the video, the po­lice­man can be seen teach­ing his daugh­ter and son how to use the MP5 gun, fol­low­ing which the daugh­ter fires at a dummy tar­get.

The po­lice­man, who is posted as an in­spec­tor in re­serve serv­ing at the po­lice lines, is first seen ex­plain­ing the MP5 sub­ma­chine to his chil­dren. While his son can be seen sit­ting and check­ing the gun, the daugh­ter is stand­ing be­side him with an­other po­lice of­fi­cer.

“He has been placed un­der sus­pen­sion and de­part­men­tal in­quiry has been ini­ti­ated against him,” said Vi­jayanta Arya, DCP (North­west). The in­ci­dent oc­curred dur­ing the an­nual tar­get prac­tice that was un­der way at the po­lice lines for three days.
