New Delhi: West Ben­gal chief min­is­ter Ma­mata Ban­er­jee met home min­is­ter Amit Shah on Thurs­day and told him that many gen­uine In­di­ans had been ex­cluded from the Na­tional Regis­ter of Cit­i­zens (NRC) in Assam. She had met PM Naren­dra Modi a day ear­lier.

“I re­quested him to see to it that the In­dian cit­i­zens left out are in­cluded in the NRC. The home min­is­ter has as­sured me that he will look into it,” she said.

Ma­mata’s meet­ings with Modi and Shah were seen in po­lit­i­cal light as well given the BJP-Tri­namool clashes ahead of and dur­ing the Lok Sabha polls.
