Bengaluru: Indian doubles ace Rohan Bopanna said here on Friday that playing with one doubles partner for a certain period of time has helped him get better results in the hard-court season.

“It has been a mixed experience this year. I planned to play with Divij (Sharan) as much as possible. Unfortunately, in March, we were forced to change partners because our rankings were not high enough. It was either change partners and play Masters series or not play at all. With Indian Wells, Miami, Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Madrid and Rome, which were six big events, we had no option but to change,” Bopanna said.

“After that I played with Canada’s Denis Shapovalov. Playing with somebody for a few events makes a difference and that is why I feel my hard-court season got a little better compared to the claycourt season”
