New Delhi: A shootout between the cops and Dwarka gang members near Najafgarh on Saturday night led to the arrest of three criminals, one of whom suffered bullet injuries.

The injured accused, Vicky, who has murder and extortion cases against him, is currently undergoing treatment, police said.

The incident happened at 7.40pm when the cops were tipped off about the gang that had been calling a Dwarka businessman demanding Rs 30 lakh as protection money. The accused had threatened the businessman and gathered near Mitraon village for their next plan of action. When the team reached the spot, the gang opened fire at them. “In retaliation, one bullet hit Vicky, while the others were caught later,” said Rajender Meena, additional DCP (Dwarka).
