Deepak eyes historic gold in wrestling
Deepak Punia placed himself in line for the senior wrestling world title by reaching the 86kg final in the world championships, apart from booking his Tokyo Olympics quota, in Kazakhstan on Saturday. At 20, he also became the youngest wrestler to reach the final of the tournament.
However, it was heartbreak for boxer Amit Panghal (23), who lost in the world championships final on Saturday. He, though, became the first Indian pugilist to win a silver in the men’s world championships.
