New Delhi: A women and her two friends were allegedly molested by two men in a restobar in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash on Saturday night. The woman narrated the incident on her social media account. She alleged that the two men made obscene remarks and pushed her chair. Police said they had scanned CCTV footage at the restaurant and the accused would be nabbed soon.

In her social media post, the woman wrote: “Three of us had gone out. The incident happened between 10.25pm and 10.40pm. Two men sat behind our table and one of them rested his arm on my chair. I moved my chair as his arm was very close to my head. The other man sitting with him then pushed my chair very aggressively...”

The woman claimed that when she and her friends confronted the men, they started hurling abuses at them. One of them, she said, even kicked at her face and made obscene remarks. “The incident shook us immensely. The restaurant manager sent the men to the first floor to calm things down. In less than five minutes, the two men came back and sat at the same table as before,” she wrote.

“The staff lacked insensitivity; had we not been strong enough in our stand asking them to leave, they would have happily served them,” the woman claimed.

When one of her friends tried to take a picture, the accused blew kisses at her, the woman claimed, adding that she called the police when the men left. “We were left shaken, shocked and appalled. We spent three hours at the police station trying to get an FIR lodged,” she alleged. Deputy commissioner of police (South) Atul Kumar Thakur said: “We have registered a case under sections 354 (molestation) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. The accused will be nabbed soon.”

On the alleged delay in filing of an FIR, the DCP said: “The women reached the police station and their complaint was immediately registered.”
