Zverev ensures Laver Cup win for Europe
Geneva: Alexander Zverev snatched the Laver Cup for Team Europe as he beat Canada’s Milos Raonic in the final rubber at Geneva’s Palexpo Arena. With Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal part of the supporting bench, Zverev showed immense composure to close out a 6-4, 3-6, 10-4 victory and hand Bjorn Borg’s team a 13-11 overall win.
Tsonga captures fourth Metz ATP title:
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won the ATP tournament in Metz for the fourth time following a 6-7 (4/7), 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 victory over Slovenia’s Aljaz Bedene. The 34-year-old Frenchman added to his wins in 2011, 2012 and 2015 in Metz by claiming the 18th title of his career. Tsonga finished 2018 ranked outside the top 200 after a year.
