MP Dalit girl, boy beaten to death over open defecation
Bhopal: Two Dalit cousins — a girl aged 12 and an 11year-old boy — were beaten to death by two men in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh when they were defecating in the open in front of the suspects’ house.
CM Kamal Nath expressed concern over the murders and directed police to take action against the accused. BSP supremo condemned the brutal attack on children, and tweeted that “Dalits and minorities are becoming victims of atrocities across the country.”

The kids squatted in front of Hakam’s house. Furious, he rebuked them and suddenly started hitting them on the head with a stick. Police said his brother Rameshwar joined him.
Villagers rushed out on hearing their screams, but it was too late. “We took the kids to hospital but they died of skull injuries,” SP Rajesh Chandel told TOI, adding that Hakam and Rameshwar were arrested immediately. They have been charged with murder. The SP said Hakam was acting like he were mentally unsound.
