3 kids killed in Raj village after school wall collapses on them
Udaipur: Three students, aged six to15, died after a wall of a government upper primary school in Udaipur’s Thobawada village collapsed on them on Sunday.
The trio was going to school when the wall collapsed. The students, who were passing by the spot, were trapped under the rubble. By the time eyewitnesses rushed to the rescue, the children were buried under the debris and couldn’t be saved.
Submerged roads leading to the village also delayed the arrival of police and, in turn, the rescue operation. By the time the operation got under way, several villagers had gathered at the spot. Locals along with teachers alleged that the contractor had used inferior quality construction materials which led to the collapse.
“The bodies were handed over to their families after autopsy,” Kherwara SHO Bhanwarlal said.
