In a 2011 in­ter­view at Y Com­bi­na­tor’s Startup School in Palo Alto, Cal­i­for­nia, Zucker­berg said he had no idea what he was do­ing the first few years of the so­cial net­work’s ex­is­tence. Mis­takes are in­evitable, he said, and one doesn’t get judged for mak­ing them. How­ever, what is un­par­don­able is re­fus­ing to take risks. “The big­gest risk is not tak­ing any risk. In a world that’s chang­ing re­ally quickly, the only strat­egy that is guar­an­teed to fail is not tak­ing risks,” he had said.
