U-23 player injured in nets:

In a freak accident during the training session of the Karnataka U-23 team at the KSCA ‘B’ ground on Saturday, spinner Punith S took a bad hit on the forehead and had to be rushed to the hospital. The incident occurred when Punith was waiting for his turn to bowl at the nets when a batsman’s shot hit Punith on the forehead. The 21-year-old, who was the best U-23 bowler last season, fell to the ground immediately. He limped out of the ground and was made to sit while an ambulance was called. It was then that the left-arm tweaker suffered a concussion and lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital in a semiconscious state. By late Saturday night, Punith had regained consciousness and was able to speak.
