Cricket betting racket busted, two arrested
New Delhi: A cricket betting racket operating out of a house in Jagatpuri near Shahdara using an app and multiple websites was busted recently.
The house had a complex integrated system installed with 167 mobile phones connected through a single line. The money was being transferred through online payments using various portals. Each of the phone had a unique identity number to connect the gamblers to the website and application.
Police said they were tipped off about the accused, Avnit Thapar and Manoj, also known as Kake, whose source of income was unknown. They then formed a team and raided their house on Tuesday night, said Amit Sharma, DCP (Shahdara).
