Rajat Sharma to represent DDCA at BCCI meeting
New Delhi: The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has nominated its president Rajat Sharma as its representative to attend the upcoming Indian cricket board (BCCI) annual general meeting (AGM) on October 23. BCCI is slated to elect its apex council as per reformed constitution on the same day.
In a resolution passed by the DDCA apex council on Thursday, 12 out of the 16 members, have backed Sharma’s name as their sole representative at the BCCI meetings and take part (as voter member) in the board’s elections as and when held.
The resolution thwarted DDCA secretary Vinod Tihara’s attempt to be the association’s representative at the board. The members through their resolution also cautioned BCCI against the “self-nomination” of Tihara as the representative of DDCA. The resolution, while pointing out to his anti-DDCA activities, further stated that Tihara is ‘not a person fit or appropriate for such a responsible role as DDCA representative.’
HCA retains all office-bearers
Haryana Cricket Association has retained all of its office-bearers after conducting its elections on Thursday. HCA elected Kultar Malik, Mirnal Ojha, Mahender Singh as president, secretary and treasurer respectively besides electing four other members in the apex council. All three had completed just two years in office. However, the state government had telephonic discussion with the CoA about the noncompliance of the association while the BCCI awaits a revised constitution from HCA by Friday.
