BJP cor­po­ra­tor, brother & 2 sons mur­dered in Maha

Nashik: BJP cor­po­ra­tor Ravin­dra Kharat, alias Hampya (50), his brother, two sons and an ac­quain­tance were mur­dered by three armed men in the Sa­mata Na­gar area of Bhu­sawal, in Jal­gaon dis­trict, 270 km from Nashik, on Sun­day night.

The three men at­tacked Kharat and his ac­quain­tance, Su­mit Ga­jare, with sharp weapons, re­sult­ing in their deaths, while they shot dead Kharat’s brother Su­nil (55) and two sons, Prem­sagar (24) and Ro­hit, alias Sonu (20). Kharat’s wife, Ra­jni, and an­other son, Hitesh, es­caped with in­juries.

The po­lice sus­pect the mur­ders were com­mit­ted over sus­pi­cion about Prem­sagar’s in­volve­ment in a mur­der case in Bhu­sawal about one-and-a-half years ago.

The fu­neral of the five vic­tims was held amid tight po­lice se­cu­rity. All five vic­tims were rushed to gov­ern­ment hos­pi­tals but were de­clared brought dead. The as­sailants es­caped in the dark.
