ED at­taches ` 1,500cr as­sets of Adarsh Group

New Delhi: The En­force­ment Direc­torate has pro­vi­sion­ally at­tached as­sets worth Rs 1,500 crore in an em­bez­zle­ment case of pub­lic de­posits by Adarsh Credit Co­op­er­a­tive So­ci­ety Ltd (ACCSL). The at­tached prop­er­ties are sit­u­ated at Ra­jasthan, Haryana, New Delhi, Gu­jarat, Ma­ha­rash­tra and Ut­tar Pradesh.

These prop­er­ties, which in­clude land and build­ings val­ued at over Rs 1,465 crore and de­posits in var­i­ous bank ac­counts of Rs 24.44 crore, be­long to Adarsh group of Mukesh Modi, Viren­dra Modi and his fam­ily; Rid­dhi Sid­dhi group of Ma­hen­dra Tak, Sau­rabh Tak and prop­er­ties of some other ac­cused. The ED said in its pro­vi­sional at­tach­ment or­der that all these prop­er­ties were found in­volved in the of­fence of money laun­der­ing.
