The Times of India (New Delhi edition) - - Times City -

New Delhi: A five-month-old child died after an iron nail hit his head when his father tried to attack his mother with a stick. The incident happened near Ghazipur. The accused father is on the run.

On October 6, the accused Satyajit and his wife Deepti reached a government hospital with the child, Tanishk, who had a bruise on his forehead. The doctors treated him there. On October 8, the couple again took their child to a private hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment. Doctors said that he died of internal bleeding.

A police probe later revealed that Satyajit tried to hit Deepti, who was holding Tanishk in her arms, with a stick which had nails. Satyajit had lost his job recently.

DCP (East) Jasmeet Singh said a case of culpable homicide has been registered.
