DUSIB sur­vey of slums for pucca houses

New Delhi: Delhi govern­ment will soon start giv­ing cer­tifi­cates to slum dwellers, promis­ing them a pucca house in the cap­i­tal un­der the ‘ Mukhya­mantri Awas Yo­jana’.

Ac­cord­ing to Delhi Ur­ban Shel­ter Im­prove­ment Board (DUSIB), which is con­duct­ing a sur­vey to as­cer­tain the ex­act num­ber of fam­i­lies liv­ing in 675 slums across the city, the de­tails of peo­ple liv­ing in about 270 clus­ters have al­ready been cap­tured.

“The sur­vey has al­ready cov­ered 1.25 lakh house­holds, who will be is­sued sur­vey cer­tifi­cates by the Delhi govern­ment,” a state­ment is­sued by DUSIB on Wed­nes­day said.

Ac­cord­ing to of­fi­cials, the sur­vey is aimed at as­cer­tain­ing the de­mand for con­struc­tion of ‘pucca’ houses for the poor slum dwellers. The app-based dig­i­tal sur­vey is cap­tur­ing in­for­ma­tion about house­holds in slum clus­ters along with pho­to­graphs of their per­sonal iden­ti­fi­ca­tion cer­tifi­cates like Aad­haar card, Voter ID, etc.
