DUSIB survey of slums for pucca houses
New Delhi: Delhi government will soon start giving certificates to slum dwellers, promising them a pucca house in the capital under the ‘ Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana’.
According to Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), which is conducting a survey to ascertain the exact number of families living in 675 slums across the city, the details of people living in about 270 clusters have already been captured.
“The survey has already covered 1.25 lakh households, who will be issued survey certificates by the Delhi government,” a statement issued by DUSIB on Wednesday said.
According to officials, the survey is aimed at ascertaining the demand for construction of ‘pucca’ houses for the poor slum dwellers. The app-based digital survey is capturing information about households in slum clusters along with photographs of their personal identification certificates like Aadhaar card, Voter ID, etc.
