I-T raids K’taka Cong netas in NEET ‘scam’
Bengaluru: Tax officials on Thursday raided educational institutions owned by former Karnataka deputy chief minister G Parameshwara and former Union minister R L Jalappa, both Congressmen, in a multi-crore tax evasion case linked to this year’s NEET.
The raids covered 30 premises across Karnataka and Rajasthan. Congress termed the actions “BJP’s vendetta”. I-T officials attributed the raids to a case of alleged forgery and illegal payments made to secure 186 seats by 68 students from Rajasthan. They seized Rs 2 crore in cash and property papers.
Parmeshwara said he had no objection to the raids.
