Cong: Why not tell China we are watching HK?

The Times of India (New Delhi edition) - - Times Nation -

China saying that it was watching the J&K situation, Congress on Thursday asked PM Modi to deliver a strong riposte to President Xi Jinping by bringing up the unceasing civil unrest in Hong Kong. The party slammed the government for failing to stop China from speaking on India’s internal affairs. “Xi Jinping says he is watching Kashmir but why do PM Modi or the external affairs ministry not say that we are watching pro-democracy protests muzzled in Hong Kong, that we are watching human rights violations in Xinjiang, that we are watching continued oppression in Tibet and that we are watching South China Sea,” Congress spokesman Manish Tewari said.

described as a “model” one (this was the Kamraj period and the first fiveyear-plan), when locals asked him to stop and inaugurate a newly-built maternity centre. Zhou obliged, even drank from a green coconut.

Sriram and his brother Thalasayanam are the sons of the man who built the maternity centre. They still live in the area and the hospital is functional as well. In fact, it is the only motherand-child centre in the area, the brothers said. “This village was on the international map. Whenever foreign dignitaries came to Tamil Nadu, they dropped by here,” Sriram said.
