AI SPV raises ` 7k crore via bonds

New Delhi: For the sec­ond time in less than a month, di­vest­ment­bound Air In­dia’s spe­cial pur­pose ve­hi­cle (SPV) — that has been formed to take over sig­nif­i­cant part of the air­line’s debt — has raised the sec­ond tranche of Rs 7,000 crore through bonds. The SPV, AI As­set Hold­ing (AIAHL), has taken over Rs 29,464 crore of AI debt along with some of the air­line’s as­sets and sub­sidiaries.

“The sec­ond bond is­sue of AIAHL with a 10-year ten­ure of Rs 1000 crore with a green shoe op­tion of Rs 6000 crore has been fully sub­scribed at 7.39%. The com­pany re­ceived bids worth Rs 21,736 crore and has de­cided to ac­cept the en­tire is­sue of Rs 7,000 crore,” AI spokesman said.
