AI SPV raises ` 7k crore via bonds
New Delhi: For the second time in less than a month, divestmentbound Air India’s special purpose vehicle (SPV) — that has been formed to take over significant part of the airline’s debt — has raised the second tranche of Rs 7,000 crore through bonds. The SPV, AI Asset Holding (AIAHL), has taken over Rs 29,464 crore of AI debt along with some of the airline’s assets and subsidiaries.
“The second bond issue of AIAHL with a 10-year tenure of Rs 1000 crore with a green shoe option of Rs 6000 crore has been fully subscribed at 7.39%. The company received bids worth Rs 21,736 crore and has decided to accept the entire issue of Rs 7,000 crore,” AI spokesman said.
