T’gana names NGOs, stu­dent unions as Maoist fronts

Hy­der­abad: The Hy­der­abad po­lice on Fri­day named13 or­gan­i­sa­tions op­er­at­ing in Te­lan­gana as fronts of the banned CPI (Maoist). These in­clude NGOs and stu­dent unions.

Among the groups that Hy­der­abad po­lice com­mis­sioner An­jani Ku­mar named at apress con­fer­ence are Te­lan­gana Vid­yarthi Vedika (TVV), Adi­vasi Vid­yarthi Sang­ham, Chai­tanya Mahila Sang­ham, Civil Lib­er­ties Com­mit­tee, Com­mit­tee for Re­lease of Po­lit­i­cal Pris­on­ers, Demo­cratic Stu­dents Union, Hu­man Rights Fo­rum, Kula Nir­mu­lana Po­rata Samithi, Pa­tri­otic Demo­cratic Move­ment, Praja Kala Man­dali, Te­lan­gana Demo­cratic Fo­rum and Te­lan­gana Praja Front. Claim­ing that Maoists were try­ing to pen­e­trate all sections of so­ci­ety, Ku­mar said ac­tion would be taken against those who are in­volved with these or­gan­i­sa­tions.
