A reader captures an aerial shot of the greenery that stretches beyond his hometown of Gulbarga in Karnataka and prods us to think about environment conservation.
LATE LAST YEAR, I was in my hometown of Gulbarga in the state of Karnataka, working from home due to the pandemic. Just after the monsoon abated, I drove to the outskirts and couldn’t believe all the greenery that covered the area. That’s when I decided to shoot an aerial picture. When I saw this scene from the skies, my first thought was that nature is trying to tell us something. The half-heart on the landscape seems to ask, ‘I love you, but do you love me too?’ We are constantly destroying our environment, but the planet continues to nourish us. It’s time we reciprocate that love.
